There has been a lot going on since GDC ended in March. With a full time job and a semi-busy social life, I do not have a plethora of time to devote to my artistic endeavors… At least not as much time as I would like. But that does not mean I have not been working on anything. Tough my lack of updates to this site may indicate otherwise.
For the last two months I have been pouring the majority of my free time into two projects that I am very excited about. The first of which is an art test for a studio of which I am a very big fan. I do not currently know if I am allowed to post the test and my progress on it, I will find out and post what I can, if possible.
The second project, which is currently taking the lions share of my attention, and has been the focus of the majority of my brain power, is an indy game project I am creating with a small team of developers, all of whom happen to be long time friends of mine. I will be adding a special section of this page that will detail my involvement in this project. So check back here in the next few days for a very large update!
GDC 2009 is over & I’m back home in sunny San Diego. I just wanted to throw out a big “Thank You!!” to everyone who took the time to review my portfolio last week. All the feedback I received was appreciated! I’d also like to say hi to all the cool people I met at the various parties I attended. I’ll be sending out some emails this week to everyone who gave me a business card!
And finally to my two travel companions, you know who you are, thanks for making this year’s GDC the best so far! Good times were had!
I have updated my Gallery page to include a whole new section dedicated to my newest project, the “Trogg Pitt”. It is an environment concept inspired by the Gnome race of Blizzard’s World of Warcraft.
Head over to the Gallery page to check it out!

I am busy gearing up my portfolio for this years GDC in San Francisco.
Checkout my W.I.P section for some renders of what I’m working on.
I’m super excited to get my work reviewed! I hope that having GDC a month
later this year will bring better weather! The rain last year was kind of
a bummer.
I am still gathering up renders for my Gallery page. Today I added a
couple screen caps of FaceQuest, the FaceBook browser game I worked
on earlier this year.

Seems like there’s been a ton of news lately!
Anyway, I got an invite to a Microsoft party. It’s going on Thursday night after Siggraph shuts down. If I can make it up to LA twice in one week I think I’ll attend.
MS sure pulled out all the stops when they made this banner image!

I got an invite to an AutoDesk sponsored party at Siggraph.
The seminar they had in Carlsbad a few months ago was pretty cool.
Open bar and free food here I come!

I just found out from Bradd that the RPM-Games crew is going to hit
up Siggraph 2008 in LA on Monday. It should be a fun event.
Hopefully I’ll make a few new contacts!

GameArtisans.org is hosting a design challenge for environment artists. Similar to the popular “Dominance War”, the “Unearthly Challenge” should be a showcase for some really great environment artists to show off thier skills.
Unless something happens the RPM-Games crew plans on entering this competition. When more info on the event is available we’ll begin developing a concept.
